The examples on this page are based on the format in Melbourne University Law Review Association, (2018) The Australian Guide to Legal Citation, 4th. ed. They have been adapted to author-date style for the use of Holmesglen students and staff. The AustLII Style Guide for Citing Legal Materials (1999) has also been consulted when developing these guidelines.
The APA Publication Manual itself refers to The Bluebook: A uniform system of citation, 20th ed., (2015). This has not been used because it does not cover Australian law.
