Install EndNote 20

EndNote software is available for Holmesglen higher education students and staff.
 
Higher Education Students

Please email us a request to join the Holmesglen Library Higher Education Resources course on BrightSpace.

Please note: EndNote software cannot be installed on Holmesglen student computers.

Holmesglen Staff

On campus, staff must download the EndNote 20 software from ZENworks > Library Resources folder.

To use EndNote 20 off campus and on your own devices, please email us (infodesk@holmesglen.edu.au ) a request to join the Holmesglen Library Higher Education Resources course on BrightSpace.

Software Requirements

Windows

You will need to download the EndNote 20 for Windows zip file. Extract the zip file content to the Desktop, then find and double click the file EN20Inst.msi.

Mac

You will need to download EndNote 20 for Mac. Double click and drag it to the Applications folder. Note: Ensure you have the correct system requirements.

Available software updates

Once you have installed the EndNote application, check for software updates

Open EndNote 20

If you already have an EndNote Web account, you can use that login information to sign into EndNote 20. This will ensure that the references you have saved are linked between the two accounts. 
 

1. Open EndNote 20.

2. Close the Welcome to EndNote screen (if it shown).

3. Click File > New.

4. Choose a file name and location for your Reference Library.

5. Click Save

When the following message appears "Word wasn't able to load an add-in"  in MS Word, follow the instructions by clicking  HERE.

  

Cite While You Write™ (CWYW)

For CWYW to work effectively, you will need to have Microsoft Word 2016, 2019 or Office 365.
