What is research?

Searching for and finding resources, knowledge and evidence to answer an assignment question.

 

 1  Understand your research topic 

Break down topic, select keywords.

 2  Select / evaluate resources

Use selection checklists, think about resource types.

 3  Search

Library Search, eresources and databases, websites.

 4  Organise

Document and/or save sources as you go.

 5  Write assignment

Write and structure assignment in academic style.

 6  Reference

Include in-text citations with a reference list.
