There are two ways to export citations from Informit: Copy citation and Download citation.
Note: Please note that only one page of records can be exported at a time and up to 100 records can be selected per page when exporting records from Informit.
Note: Check out Informit's video demonstration on How to Export a citation (starting at 20:30 - ) or go to the Citation section of Informit Knowledge Base.
To manage your export citation records from Informit, import your saved records to your favourite citation management tool such as EndNote. Follow this user guide to download and install EndNote (EndNote 21 Desktop version or EndNote Online Web version).
Steps to import selected citation/s file into EndNote
Step 1: Search and Select - Search on the Informit database, use the checkboxes to select the records you wish to export (up to 100 records per page) or select one record to export at one time, then click the Export Citations button.
Step 2: Export Citations & Output Format - Click the Export Citations button and select Download Citation from the tool menu. Select RIS format and click on the red Download button.
Step 3: Download File - The citation(s) in the format selected (e.g. filename informit(100).ris) will then be downloaded to your local computer.
Step 4: Import Records into EndNote - Open EndNote (EndNote 21 or EndNote online), then double-click the RIS file. A prompt will appear for you to select a destination (EndNote 21 or EndNote online). The selected citation/s file will then be imported into EndNote directly.
