How do I reset my Holmesglen password?
To manage your password, you must setup the Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset. The Self-Service Password Reset utilises the Microsoft Authenticator app to unlock your Holmesglen account.
Instructions can be found on this page.

There is an error message when I try to open a standard
If you see the message shown below, it means that more than 2 people are trying to view a standard at a time. Wait at least 10 minutes then try again. When you can access it, download it to ensure you have access when you need it.
How many licenses does Holmesglen have?
Holmesglen only has 2 concurrent licenses. This means that only 2 people can view a particular standard at once. For this reason we recommend you download standards instead of viewing online. This will free up a license allowing others to access.
Where can I save a PDF standard I have downloaded?
You can save the PDF on your computer or device, but it will then be locked to that device. If you wish to access it on another device, you must download it there as well.
I've downloaded a PDF standard, but it is blank. Why is this?
How do I change my browser settings to automatically download PDFs?
Browsers such as Chrome do not allow you to open protected PDFs within the browser. Follow these steps to ensure PDFs are downloaded instead of opened in Google Chrome:
1. Click on the menu option (3 dots) in the upper right hand corner of the screen, then select Settings.
2. A settings options screen will load. Scroll down to find the “Privacy and security" section.
3. Click on “Site Settings".
4. The page will expand with more settings. Scroll down to find “PDF documents” and click on that.
5. Find “Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome” and enable this option. The setting should switch from grey to blue.
6. Go to your downloads folder, right click on the PDF standard and select Open With: Adobe Acrobat DC or Adobe Acrobat Reader. s
Why is FileOpen needed to view standards?
Some standards publishers require that Digital Rights Management (DRM) software be installed with their documents. FileOpen is a DRM software that works with Adobe Reader. It works by associating the standard you download with your computer, meaning that once downloaded, the file is only accessible from there.
A Secure PDF is a file containing features that prevent reproduction or distribution to other users, in the same way that users are prohibited from making copies of printed documents. This security features simply enforces existing copyright laws.
Note: Adobe Acrobat Reader and the FileOpen plug-in are required to view Secure PDFs.
What are the system requirements for FileOpen?
FileOpen is available for Windows, Mac, IOS and Android. The compatibility requirements for FileOpen are outlined on the FileOpen Installers page.
Download the latest version of Adobe Reader here. s
How can I tell if I have the FileOpen plug-in installed?
Go to the Test FileOpen page to see if FileOpen plug-in is installed.
Printing is not working. What could be the problem?
If you are unable to print, try downloading a new copy of your file. If you are still unable to print, follow these instructions in Adobe Reader:
How do I change the printer settings? (e.g. double-sided printing)
Adobe Reader ignores print setting changes when you try to change them for just one document. Instead, make the change you want – double sided printing, for example – at the printer default level. Then Adobe Reader should honour the settings changes you make and print out the document to your specification.
Note: You are allowed to print one single copy of a standard for your own personal use at Holmesglen – sharing copies is strictly prohibited.
