Informit

By default, all Informit databases that are subscribed to by Holmesglen Library are searched.

Searches can be limited to a specific subject database, such as business, health, public affairs, engineering etc. by using the Change Databases button. There are several ways to change your database(s) across the Informit platform.

• On the Informit search home page
• On the Advanced search screen of Informit
• On the Search result screen of Informit

Note that once database(s) is selected from the list, the selected database will remain active until you select different database(s) by using the Change Databases button. The title(s) or the number of the selected databases will be shown on the left-hand side of the Change Databases button. 

If you wish to select only one database for the duration of your session, you can select a single database from the Library Database List for Informit or click on the Change Databases button to check out a subject-based database, then click on the Use Selected Databases button to begin your search.  

If you want to limit your search results to content that the Library has access to, click on the checkbox Only Show Content I have access to.

This checkbox can be found:

1. on the Home page beneath the search bar
2. at the centre of the Advanced Search Page, or
3. at the top of the search facets on the Search Result page.
