The Library is running a series of six research and referencing online workshops from Monday 5 August to Thursday 15 August. These 30-minute sessions will cover vital research skills, navigating the Library’s electronic resources, and the basics of referencing. 

 

These events will be delivered online via Webex, click onto the topic to register in Eventbrite. Webex links will be provided after registration.

How to locate the research skills guide, understanding your research topic, using Library Search to find relevant resources, how to organise your resources.

Introduction to electronic resources
How to locate electronic resources through the Library, what academic databases are and the information they contain, how to access ebooks and streaming videos, how to effectively search databases.

Referencing 101
What referencing is and why it is important, how to locate the referencing guides and tools, how to insert citations into your assignment, correct referencing formats for books, journals and websites.
