National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is held every year from 27 May to 3 June. It marks two significant milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey — the 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision. These historic events remind us of the importance of recognising and respecting the rights and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme for NRW 2025, “Bridging Now to Next”, invites us to reflect on how the past shapes our present, and how together we can create a more equitable future.
At Holmesglen Library, we proudly acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn, and work. To mark National Reconciliation Week, each of our campus libraries — Chadstone, Glen Waverley and Moorabbin — has created a display showcasing First Nations voices, stories, and knowledge. These collections feature books, ebooks, and other resources by and about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. We invite you to visit your campus library and explore these powerful resources.
You can also discover more in our First Nations Library Guide, which includes recommended books, streaming videos and more.
