Ownership of copyright
The copyright of any materials deposited in the Holmesglen Institutional Repository is retained by the copyright owner, usually the author or the publisher. Users may download and print a single copy of any work in the repository for personal or non-commercial use providing due attribution is given. Material in the repository cannot be published commercially or altered or be re-communicated without the permission of the copyright owner.
While we aim to provide the full text for as many publications as possible, copyright regulations dictate which papers we can make available. This means that some items in the repository appear as citations only.
Managing your copyright
The deposit of material into the repository does not transfer copyright to the Holmesglen Institute. Copyright is retained by the copyright owner, usually the author of the publisher. Authors are encouraged to request that any contract signed with a publisher should include a clause that grants them explicit permission to deposit a copy of their research output into the Holmesglen Institutional Repository. Authors should seek permission from co-authors to add materials to the repository as they jointly own the copyright.
Metadata rights
Holmesglen Institutional Repository metadata can be harvested by third parties for the purposes related to the discovery of the archive’s contents. However, harvesting of the full documents is not permitted.
