International Children's Book Day

by Naomi Ferguson on 2025-04-02T09:14:00+11:00 in English, Education and Teacher Training | 0 Comments

"Since 1967, on or around Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, 2 April, International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books" (iBbY).

The Libraries at Moorabbin and Glen Waverley (where we have storybooks to borrow) have created displays to celebrate International Children's Book Day 2025. The theme this year is The freedom of imagination. So we're featuring books that encourage creativity and imagination, including fantasy stories, imaginative worlds, and diverse illustrations (or any stories that spark our own imagination).
