What is AustLII?

The Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) provides free, comprehensive and independent access to the full text of Australian legal materials. Information available includes primary materials, such as federal and state legal legislation, and decisions of courts and tribunals; and secondary materials, such as law reform and royal commission reports.

AustLII Databases

Public legal information available through AustLII includes:

  • Cases and legislation for Commonwealth of Australia, Australian states and territories, and New Zealand
  • Law journals
  • Law reform
  • Australian treaties
  • Specific laws such as aviation law, health practitioner law, human rights, indigenous law, intellectual property law, military law, privacy law, taxation law and workplace law
